Just Practicing some low poly modeling and texturing here. Textures painted by hand (no-photo texture). Hopfully this will come out cool when its done.
More recent version, shadows cut out onto alpha cards. Still figuring out the best shape for those weird trees in the BG.

Flake Out
Hey guys, we've been a little too busy at work to finish any of those other paintings that I started (I will though, I promise) but here are some life drawings from the Santa Monica YMCA and some speed paintings from the last 2 weeks.
These speed paintings were all done in under an hour or two. I'm trying to speed up my painting skills so these are all pretty rough. Also, they're really convenient to start and finish quickly after work.
Old sketch I never put on here

Work after work
Messin around with this character some more, I found his silhouette to be the most interesting part of his design so I'm working dark to light on him. Also trying to keep all the details tight and true to the drawing. Oh and in case you cant tell by the giant letters this piece is still in progress.
This was an older piece I wanted to revisit, I liked the design of it so I just polished it up a bit and unified the rythm with the background.

Swamp Planet
Swamp Planet
This was a concept piece for an "overgrown swamp planet" idea. It took a while to figure out how I was going to resolve everything but i decided to go with more realistic textures, as apposed to a more stylized approach. Everything was done in photoshop (yay photoshop!).
And I might as well put these storyboards up, although I'm very not happy about doing them and I'll be damned if they ever make it on my website.

New Artwork!!!!! (Mostly)
This is one of the head variations for my Dominance War Character.... I might go with something like this for the final.
Project#2: Character Illustration
I needed to pump something out in a week for project 2, so this hastily painted/quickly colored painting is what I came up with. I like parts of it, but now that its done, I probably won't touch it.
This is a sketch from Brian's class last year. I kind-of liked the design of it so I toned it in photoshop.
